Africa One Group Story

Africa One Group was founded on a simple but demanding idea: Africa's growth should be built, owned, and told by the people closest to it. Founder & CEO Wilbert Frank Chaniwa brought more than 27 years of hospitality management experience across the UK and Africa — including direct operational leadership with international hotel brands — into a single question: what would it take to build an enterprise that grows African agriculture, brands African hospitality, and trades African products on equal footing with the rest of the world?

The answer became Africa One Group: a UK–Africa enterprise, dual-registered in the UK and Rwanda and RDB-approved, with its Africa headquarters in Kigali. What started as a hospitality brand-building venture — RIC Brands — has grown into a seven-division group spanning investment, agribusiness, hospitality and tourism, green energy, trade, media and events, and knowledge transfer. Every division shares the same operating discipline: real assets, real partnerships, and real knowledge transfer, not extraction dressed up as investment.

Today, Africa One Group works with investors, producers, hospitality operators, agripreneurs, diplomatic partners, and diaspora communities across more than a dozen African markets — convening them through platforms like Origin Cup and the Africa Coffee Festival London, financing them through Africa One Fund, and equipping them through Masterclass Africa.

Our Approach

Africa One Group is guided by six non-negotiable pillars that govern every division, partnership, and piece of content the Group produces:

  • Food sovereignty and indigenous crop revival

  • Agricultural knowledge transfer

  • Value-added trade and market access

  • Hospitality brand building and knowledge transfer

  • Africa investment facilitation

  • Grow Africa, Brand Africa, Trade Africa

These pillars are not marketing language — they are the filter every deal, course, event, and partnership is measured against before it carries the Africa One Group name.
